Forty-eight icons of everyday life in Japan, drawn twice: once in soft flat colour and once as clean line art. The set covers the corner shop and the streets around it: rice ball, bento box, melon bread, oden, ramen, steamed bun, fruit sandwich, custard pudding, dango, taiyaki, takoyaki, sushi, soft serve, strawberry mochi, mandarin, shaved ice and omelette rice; canned coffee, bottled green tea, strawberry milk, marble soda and a cup of green tea; a vending machine, the corner shop itself, an umbrella stand, a bicycle with a basket, a train, a postbox, a train ticket, a transit card, a shopping basket, a capsule toy machine, a shop curtain and a tote bag; and at home, a lucky cat (maneki-neko), a daruma, a wind chime, a paper lantern, cherry and plum blossom, a weather doll, a goldfish bowl, a round fan, a rice cooker, a kotatsu, a shiba dog, a wrapping cloth and a paper crane.

The filled style uses two or three flat colours per icon from one small palette, with a 2 px cocoa outline and rounded corners throughout; seventeen of the icons have small faces. The line style is the same drawing as a single 2 px stroke on a 48 px grid, with round caps and joins, in currentColor, so it takes the colour of your text in a web page or app.

What you get: every icon as SVG in both styles (96 files, cleaned and optimised), transparent PNG at 64, 256 and 1024 px in both styles, a line-icon SVG sprite, and an icon sheet PDF in A4 and US Letter that names every icon in English and Japanese (set in Zen Maru Gothic, licence included). The SVG and PNG sets come as four zip files, one per style and format.

Use them for websites and apps, planners and journals, stickers, menus, slides and social posts. The line icons recolour with one CSS property; the filled icons keep their palette. Every drawing is built on the same grid and keylines, so the set sits evenly in a row at any size.
