Privacy

In short

We keep your name and email so your purchases have somewhere to live, a record of what you bought, and a log of downloads. We never see your card. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no analytics scripts on this site.

What we keep

• Your account: the name and verified email address Google or GitHub share when you sign in. We never receive your password.
• Your orders: what you bought and under which licence, the amount and currency, the date, Paddle's transaction reference, and your email.
• Your downloads: which file and when, with a short scrambled fingerprint of your network address that changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address. It lets us notice an account being shared without keeping where you were.
• Where you came from: if another Kadal site linked you here, which one — one of a short fixed list such as "deck" — so we can tell which of our sites are worth the effort.

Cookies

• kd_store keeps you signed in, for up to 90 days.
• kd_store_oauth exists for ten minutes while you sign in, to protect the sign-in from being hijacked.
• kd_ref remembers which Kadal site sent you, for 30 days.

Your choice of light or dark theme is kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

Who else is involved

• Paddle runs the checkout as merchant of record: they take the payment, handle tax and email your receipt, under their privacy policy.
• Cloudflare hosts the store, stores the files and sends order emails from store@kadal.cc.
• Google and GitHub confirm who you are when you sign in with them.

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Your account and download log are kept while your account is open. Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after an account is closed.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it erased, and to nominate someone to act for you. Email pmithunish@gmail.com, who is also our Grievance Officer. We reply within 7 days and resolve requests within 30.

Who is responsible

Kadal, run by Mithunish Prabhakaran as an individual in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Indian law applies, and the courts at Chennai have jurisdiction.
