Komon (小紋, "small pattern") is the fine, all-over repeat of everyday kimono. This one scatters two spring flowers: sakura (桜, cherry), five petals each with the small notch at its tip and five stamens between them, and ume (梅, plum), five round petals that overlap into a soft pentagon around a ring of stamens. Closed buds fill the spaces between. The petals are smooth curves with no corners except the cherry's notch.

The tile holds 92 blossoms in three sizes and 70 buds, spaced evenly with no clumps or empty patches, across the tile edges too, so the repeat never shows. It repeats with no seam at any size.

Seven colourways: Indigo (藍, pink cherry and white plum with golden stamens on deep indigo), Vermilion (朱, white and pale blossoms on vermilion), Young Bamboo (若竹, white cherry and pink plum on green), Yamabuki Gold (山吹, white cherry and umber plum on golden yellow), Sakura (桜, rose and deep rose on blossom pink), Sumi (墨, charcoal and grey with vermilion stamens on washi white) and Cloud, a modern colourway with luminous blue cherry and olive plum on cloud white.

Each colourway comes as a 2048 px and a 4096 px square PNG tile (sRGB, no transparency), 14 tiles in all. The commercial licence adds an editable SVG tile for every colourway, with the colours set in one style block so you can recolour it in any vector editor.

Also included: origami paper as vector PDFs for A4 and US Letter, seven pages each, one per colourway. Every page holds one 150 mm (5.9 in) square and two 75 mm (2.95 in) squares, printed past the trim line with crop marks to cut on. The squares are full colour edge to edge, so they use plenty of ink; print at 100 % on thin paper.

At 4096 px the tile prints about 35 cm (13.7 in) across at 300 ppi. Use it as digital paper for scrapbooking and cards, for fabric and gift-wrap designs, stationery and packaging, or as a pattern fill and backdrop.
