About this file
Ippitsusen are the slim notes Japanese letter writers tuck into a parcel, a returned book or a gift: a few lines, a name, a thank-you. Each of these eight designs is 82 × 182 mm (3.2 × 7.2 in), with pale lines 7.5 mm apart between a To line and a From line: Air mail, Ume blossom, Paper cranes, Tea time, Snail mail, Goldfish, Maple leaves and Stamp collection.
Each design has a sheet of its own, three notes laid on their sides with trim marks, so one print makes three. The last four sheets hold eight mini envelopes, 92 × 68 mm (3.6 × 2.7 in), one per design: the printed side is the outside, with the motif and a To line on the front and the matching pattern on the flaps. A note folded in three slips inside. They are for handing over or tucking into a parcel, too small for the post.
The English and Japanese edition adds 様 after the name, より after yours, and Japanese beside the few printed words, such as エアメール and お茶と手紙.
You get 4 PDFs, A4 and US Letter in each edition, 12 pages each, and the font licence. Set in Fraunces and Courier Prime, with Klee One for the Japanese.
How to print: open the PDF for your paper and print at 100 % ("Actual size"), not "Fit to page". Everything sits at least 10 mm inside the edge of the page, and no page uses more than about 2 % ink coverage. Trim the notes at the marks; cut the envelopes on the solid lines and crease the dashed ones.
