About this file
Forty short interface sounds with one family voice: rounded, warm and low-mid, with nothing sharp in the range where ears are most sensitive. They sit quietly under an app or a website instead of poking out of it.
What is in the pack:
- Taps (3), clicks (3), toggle on and off, a switch, pops (3) and swipes (2)
- Success (3), error (2) and warning tones, four notifications, message sent and received
- Delete, refresh, lock, unlock, copy, like, two keyboard ticks and loading complete
- A soft camera shutter, a send swoosh, a hover tick, and panel open and close
Each sound is its own WAV file (48 kHz, 24-bit, mono), named for what it does, such as ui-toggle-on.wav. Most last between 0.07 and 0.3 seconds; the chimes and notifications ring on for up to about 0.9 seconds. 13 seconds of sound in all. A README lists every file with its length and a short description.
Every file starts on its first sample, fades out to true silence, peaks below -1 dBFS (true peak) and is levelled to sit with the rest of the pack, so you can swap one sound for another without re-balancing. Clicks, ticks and the hover sound sit a little quieter, as they should.
Use them for button feedback, toasts and alerts in web and mobile apps, prototypes, product demos and walkthrough videos. On the web, load the files once and play them through the Web Audio API so they respond instantly. Keep interface sounds quiet and occasional, and give people a way to turn them off.
