About this file
Six original instrumentals in the sound of 1980s Japanese city pop, written for fashion, travel and lifestyle videos. A glassy tine electric piano, clean chorus guitar cuts, slap and fingered bass, bright brass stabs, lush pads and a tight drum machine with a gated snare carry major-seventh and ninth chords, II-V turns and sunny, singable lead lines, finished with a little tape warmth.
The tracks: 01 Harbour Drive (108 BPM, F major), 02 Marina Lights (100 BPM, E-flat major), 03 Rooftop Sunset (108 BPM, D major), 04 Silk Avenue (100 BPM, B-flat major), 05 Expressway Glow (108 BPM, A minor) and 06 Window Shopping (100 BPM, A-flat major). Marina Lights is a four-on-the-floor disco groove, Silk Avenue sits in a half-time verse, Expressway Glow is a minor-key night drive and Window Shopping has a light shuffle.
Every track comes as a full mix of 2:17 to 2:28 with an intro and a clean ending; edits of exactly 60, 30 and 15 seconds, each its own arrangement ending on a ringing final chord; a seamless 12-bar loop cut to the sample; and four stems at mix level (drums, bass, keys and guitar, lead and brass) that add back up to the full mix.
You get 67 files: full mixes and loops as 48 kHz, 24-bit stereo WAV and 320 kbps MP3, edits and stems as WAV, and a README listing every file's tempo, key, bars and length. Mixes, edits and loops are -14 LUFS with true peaks at or below -2 dBTP.
Drop an edit onto a 60, 30 or 15 second cut, loop the WAV under a longer scene, or mute the lead and brass stem under a voice-over and keep the groove.
