About this file
A soft mesh gradient for hero sections, landing pages and video backgrounds. Five colour points drift on slow, looping paths and melt into one another, while a gentle warp folds the blends like silk. Colours mix in a perceptual colour space, so the in-between shades stay clean instead of turning grey. The default palette is a soft sorbet of apricot, periwinkle, rose, sky blue and butter yellow.
Every part of the look is a setting: the five colours, how much the field swirls, the size of the swirls, how softly the colours melt, a touch of fine grain, and how far the field leans towards the pointer. It loops seamlessly every 10 seconds, and the loop length is a setting too. The demo has four palette presets: Sorbet, Blush, Lilac dusk and Mint cream.
What you get: a GLSL ES 3.00 fragment shader for plain WebGL2, an ES module that returns a three.js ShaderMaterial, a Shadertoy version, and a demo page that runs offline with a small settings panel. For video editors and slides there is a 10-second 1920 x 1080 H.264 loop that plays end to start without a seam.
It runs in one pass with no textures needed, at about 0.9 ms of GPU time per frame at 1920 x 1080 on a recent laptop. The README walks through set-up in WebGL2, three.js and Shadertoy, lists every uniform with its default and range, and has notes on keeping it light on phones.
